The Kigali Convention Center features a dome inspired by a traditional thatched hut. Its semi-transparent facade has won the admiration of visitors. The Kigali Convention Center complex consists of a convention center, supporting facilities, and a 5-star hotel with 292 rooms. The Main Convention Building features a highly distinctive semi-transparent dome and comprises 13 meeting rooms, food and beverage facilities, 3 restaurants, several kitchens, and all support areas. The exterior of the hotel building features a traditional hut-like shape with a matte finish, inspired by local traditional motifs. Similarly, the landscaping is designed to blend with Kigali’s natural “thousand hills” landscape.

At night, the facade is further enhanced by RGB light displays and linear LED lights running along the surface of the egg-shaped dome. The Kigali Convention Center has become a landmark and focal point in the city.
