New Sakarya Atatürk Stadium, which was built on an area of approximately 128 decares for 150 million liras in accordance with UEFA standards by the Housing Development Administration (TOKI), opened its doors on 8 October 2017.

Sakarya Youth and Sports Provincial Directorate initiated the "Living Stadium" project in order to enable the stadium to serve other branches other than football.

Within the scope of the project, the lower parts of the marathon and backstage tribunes have been transformed into pocket halls for athletics, boxing, judo, wrestling, karate, fencing and other sports branches.
